Intruders and Nightstands.

Isabel: Part one
The morning sun seeped through the blinds covering my window, signaling me that it was time to wake up. But behind my closed lids, I had no plans of waking up, or at least in the immediate future. Especially now that both my parents went off for their yearly vacation leaving me home alone with all the freedom a teenage girl thrives for. Quite frankly, I was in a paradise of slumber I had no intention of leaving.

I lifted open one eyelid as carefully as I could, but immediately shut it after the onslaught of light threatened to blind me. But at the moment my mouth felt dry and my stomach was filled with cement, the only reasonable thing for me to do was get a drink.

“Good morning sleeping beauty,” I heard a soothing voice from behind me. “It’s time to wake up.”  I shot up in surprise at the calming tone of an intruder. Who the hell did they think they were? Breaking into our house then casually climbing into my bed?! I honestly, would have screamed at this point but my heart was simultaneously trying to beat its way out of my chest and through my throat. Besides, all my neighbors were elders and I'm assuming they're all playing bingo in the community center right now.

“WHO ARE YOU?” I yelled at the top of my lungs, black spots quickly forming from the corner of my eyes. But no matter how crazy I tried to come off the intruder just smiled at me. I think you all didn't hear me correctly, he freaking’ smiled at me!

“That’s enclosed information,” He casually ran his fingers through his hair. “I’m sure you’d be more enlightened in hearing why I’m here.” He paused and looked over at me. At this point I wasn't even aware of his existence, rather looking around for the unfortunate device in his untimely death.

“Get off my bed!” I grabbed a lamp off my nightstand. “I’m going to count ten, if you're not off my bed by then, well... you know!” I gestured at my lamp in a menacing manner. This ought to get his weaponless arse of my bed; I contemplated what to do once he was off. But little to my surprise he didn't budge at all.

“Intriguing as your offer is, I’d prefer to pass.” He examined my room in false interest. “Isabel.” He knew my name?  What else did he know, wait, how did he know my name? I shrunk at the thought of how foul my name sounded coming from his mouth.

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!” I screamed the loudest scream I could possibly muster, loud enough maybe they could hear it all the way at the community center. But the intruder didn't seem to flinch; it was almost like he had expected this to happen.

“I’m awfully sorry I have to do this to you.” His eyes were closed and his fingers were perfectly placed on his temples. “Oh god, Dee is going to kill me.” Panic began to rise in my chest. What was he going to do to me? I’m too young to die! I haven’t even tried cannoli yet! But before I could even muster the strength to move out of his way I felt a sharp pain in my arm. My whole body felt numb, and my eyelids felt heavy. I gasped for air and tried to flutter open my eyes, but it was useless.

If this is what death feels like, then perhaps it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. That is, of course, if I'm even dead.

A/N: Hello there my friends, this is my first post so far. Sorry Its a bit short, but I'll promise to make the next post longer. I've noticed how far i've come  writing wise, whenever I look at my old posts I would just facepalm at how bad they were. I'm sure if you read them, you'd do the same. But I'm pretty proud of this post, it shows how much improvement i've made (that's if i've even made much). So I hope you enjoy my other posts, as well as the two other writers on this site's posts. (Whom i'm sure are extremely better writers than I am.) Well then, goodbye for now.
